2021 Viognier

Tasting Notes

This Viognier arrives with a lovely perfume of Daphne followed by generous flavors of freshly sliced apple and anjou pears. The lovely acidity frames an elegant finish of jasmine tea with a drop of honeysuckle.

Winemaker Notes

Lava Cap's 2021Viognier is grown in a high elevation vineyard that enhances the aromatic properties of the grapes. This smooth wine is supremely elegant and has apple, and pear flavors and finishes with pronounced minerality. The wine was barrel fermented and aged in small American and French oak barrels. Our use of Bungundian aging technique requires patience and extra attention to detail but it yields a rich body and velvety mouth feel.
