2016 Cabernet Franc

Tasting Notes
This powerful wine displays aromas of black cherry compote along with spiced sun dried tomato. Toasted oak compliments cherry-vanilla flavors while bright acidity lifts soft tannins to extend a long rich finish.
Vineyard Notes
Our Cabernet Franc is 100% Estate grown, at 2500ft on a steep North East facing slope. The head-trained vines are nearly 30 years old, and grown on one of the coolest corners of our vineyard, where air flowing down the Western slope of the Sierra settles during the evening.
The soil is heavily weathered volcanic debris, which compared to the rough, chunky volcanic debris on the top of our property, takes on a moon-dust like character during our long, dry summers. This fine, well draining soil allows us to moderate yields, producing concentrated, yet balanced Cabernet Franc.
Winemaker Notes
Fermented in stainless steel, and aged in first and second fill 100% French oak, this well structured wine will age well for 10-15 years, but is ready to drink upon purchase.
