Tasting Notes
Our Syrah Vineyard grows on a beautiful south facing slope reminiscent of the Hermitage hill in the Rhone Region of France. With the cooling breezes from our vineyards 2500' Elevation, rich, and well drained soils, our Syrah vines develop the lengthy flavors consistent with acclaimed Syrah wines.
Vineyard Notes
Lava Cap Estate Vineyards. The Syrah vineyard grows on a South-West facing slope. Our Syrah has the best seat in the house at 2500', with a dominating view of the Sutter-Buttes. the Syrah vines are trained in a quadrilateral System with shoot, leaf, and cluster thinning to harness vigor and yield. In addition to our quadrilateral, we have trained a small portion to a head pruned, cane trained system to provide complexity to our Estate Bottled Syrah.
Winemaker Notes
This Syrah greets the nose with violet blossom, prosciutto, and faint notes of oak. Blackberry, chocolate, and caramel transition to smooth tannins and a toasted vanilla finish.
